6 Steps to Avoid Becoming a Victim of Human Trafficking:
- Have you received a job or travel offer?
Do not be naive — carefully verify and analyze every detail of the offer received!
- Have you decided to leave?
Leave as much detailed information as possible with your family (exact address of destination, contacts of the employer/agency, copies of your passport and contract).
- Guard your identity documents!
NEVER hand over your passport, ID card, or phone to anyone, under any pretext (employers, agencies, or intermediaries). Only border police and authorized state officers have the right to inspect your documents.
- Verify the employment agency and contract!
Ensure the recruitment agency holds a valid license. Read every clause of the employment contract before signing, and ensure it is in a language you fully understand.
- Memorize emergency contacts!
Keep hotline numbers, emergency services, and the contacts of the Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in your destination country accessible at all times.
- In case of danger:
Contact local law enforcement, the nearest Moldovan diplomatic mission, or international anti-trafficking hotlines immediately.
