Services provided

Temporary accommodation

The Center provides temporary placement in a suitable and safe environment for victims of human trafficking and other categories of persons at risk. Upon placement, beneficiaries are provided with basic necessities. The Center grants accommodation to beneficiaries during the crisis period, which can last up to 30 days. If necessary, to ensure their protection, the accommodation period can be extended up to 6 months. When life and health are threatened by a real danger, the accommodation period can be extended for a duration deemed necessary for their protection. For pregnant women – victims of human trafficking, accommodation is provided for a period of up to 12 months.

Social assistance

The assistance for each beneficiary is carried out based on the individualized assistance plan, specially designed to individually address the immediate needs of the beneficiary. The plan is developed by the social worker (case manager) within the Center, being discussed with the beneficiary and, if necessary, with the person in charge of the multidisciplinary team from their place of residence.

Legal assistance

Because beneficiaries do not possess the necessary knowledge to overcome the crisis situation while at the Center, they receive legal counseling regarding protection, compensation, non-punishment (if certain crimes were committed during exploitation), etc. At the same time, the beneficiary’s situation may indicate other legal needs, such as: processing identity documents (lost/destroyed or initial documentation), child custody, compensation, divorce proceedings, property disputes… . Legal counseling, as the case may be, can also lead to the beneficiary’s representation in court in civil or criminal cases. Legal counseling is provided free of charge, upon the referral of the social worker. Legal assistance is offered to beneficiaries by qualified lawyers (through external support).

Medical assistance

Primary and rehabilitation medical assistance is offered to beneficiaries both during their placement in the Center and outside of it. Initially, medical assistance includes establishing a diagnosis with the treatment of acute diseases (including supportive treatment for chronic and incurable diseases). In case of exacerbation of pathologies requiring specialized medical care, the Center’s specialists will refer (and/or accompany) the beneficiary to other medical institutions/services.

Psychological counseling

Professional psychologists work within the Center who, through therapy, help beneficiaries overcome the crisis situation, feelings of fear, guilt, depressive states, and the consequences of post-traumatic stress. Counseling includes a wide range of techniques and methods applied by the specialist and can take place individually or in groups, family counseling, etc.
