In the context of the International Day of Action for Women’s Health, the 1st National Conference on the Sexual and Reproductive Rights of Women with Disabilities from Moldova was organized, which took place on May 29, 2017 in Chisinau.
The event was attended by Rodica Comendant, director of the Reproductive Health Training Center (CIDSR), representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family and the Ministry of Health, the Center for Assistance and Protection of Victims and Potential Victims of Trafficking in Human Beings represented by Florea Uliana, representatives of UN Agencies, the media and women with disabilities.
The purpose of the event was to identify solutions for the problems faced by women with disabilities in Moldova in the exercise of their sexual rights.
During the meeting, video materials about the sexual and reproductive rights of women with disabilities from Moldova were presented, visions of solutions for the problems faced by women were discussed
After the reports from the field, in which the achievements in the field of the NGOs trained by the CIDSR in the DSR of persons with disabilities were mentioned, discussions took place about strengthening efforts to ensure compliance with the DSR of women with disabilities in Moldova and the Conference Resolution was formulated.
At the end of the Conference, the winners of the contest to create media products on the SRD of women with disabilities from Moldova were awarded.
