The Permanent Secretariat of the National Committee for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings with the support of the IOM Mission in Moldova organized a seminar “Communicating with the mass media. What and how do we bring to the attention of the general public?”,intended for specialists with skills in the field of preventing and combating human trafficking. During the seminar, the participants familiarized themselves with basic techniques in communication with the mass media: organizing a press conference, writing the correct press release, managing information requests and developing a communication strategy, the ethical aspects of reports on victims of human trafficking, identity protection, respect for the presumption of innocence, protection against discrimination were presented and discussed.
Taking into account the specifics of preventing and combating human trafficking, the topic of crisis management was also addressed: what is a crisis situation in communication?, how do we act, how do we answer uncomfortable questions, how do we react to the appearance of negative news.
At the same time, the seminar also involved the realization of practical exercises, thus, the participants took part in the simulation of a talk show and a TV interview.
