On October 3, 2017, the first meeting of the Territorial Commissions for combating human trafficking took place in Chisinau. The Permanent Secretariat of the National Committee for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings in partnership with the OSCE Mission in Moldova, have systematized that this October 5 regional meetings will be organized on the exchange of best practices in the field of prevention and Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, the meetings are to be held between October 3-31, 2017.
Center for Assistance and Protection of Victims and Potential Victims of Trafficking in Human Beings (Centre), was represented by the director of the Center Ms. Bojenco Diana, who provided information regarding the support services provided by the Center, in particular, increased attention was paid to the mechanism for referring victims to these services by the EMT.
In this context, in order to identify solutions to improve and rationalize the activity, the presidents and secretaries of CT, the coordinators of territorial multidisciplinary teams (EMT), the police, doctors, teachers, as well as representatives of NGOs from the districts: Străseni, Dubăsari, Ialoveni, Anenii Noi, Căușeni, Ștefan Vodă were present.
During the meeting, experiences accumulated based on the workshop in Alba Iulia, Romania regarding the prevention of human trafficking (TFU) were shared, topics related to the difficulties in identifying and documenting victims and potential victims of human trafficking, the prevention of internal trafficking, especially begging by children, the identification of cases of TFU and how to report them, as well as collaboration with local NGOs.
